Description

SANTA FE COMES TO 7TH AVENUE HISTORIC!!!
This charming adobe home is unique in the meandering yet cozy spaces and has been featured in local media and national magazines. Filled with custom painting, including an Italian style fresco in the dining room, the rooms flow to the outdoors through french doors that open to the patio. Located in the 7th Avenue Historic District, we are 2 doors down from the parkway, an easy walk to Cherry Creek and near the bike path that takes you directly downtown.
The space
During the 1920s, there was a growing interest in the Santa Fe and Taos areas of New Mexico, encouraged by the bourgening arts scene there. Today one can find lingering manifestations of the influenes brought back by Denver’s early modern arts crowd.

Pueblo architecture sits in harmony with the environment as it seems to rise up out of the earth. Indeed, it was the only readily available material to the natives of American Southwestern deserts. In Denver, the Peublo Revival houses are constructed out of more substantial materials, but they retain the peaceful harmony of the original forms. This style isn’t seen often in Denver, but 656 Williams is typical of the Pueblo style. It has a flat roof with parapet wall which has round edges. Straight window frames with earth colored stucco adobe brick walls and projections.

The Gardens were featured as an “Oasis of Peace” in Better Homes & Gardens
The Kitchen was featured in Colorado Homes & Lifestyles

The first floor includes kitchen that opens to a den and sunroom, formal dining room and living room with a wood burning fireplace. The dining room and sunroom open to the private back patio that features a built-in fireplace. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms, with a double and a single bed respectively. There is also a library with a dedicated workspace and a pull out sofa. A full laundry room and exercise equipment are in the basement.

There is ample street parking in the neighborhood. The area is very walk-able, the house is situated on bike paths, and public transit is robust.

The house is outfitted with an evaporative cooler, which is a very effective way of keeping cool in the summer.

Steam heat is the perfect way to stay cozy in the winter.
